Sick and tired ... of being sick and tired

Is anyone else out there as frustrated and disgusted with President Miller's constant defense of Mark Rowan's rights? At every turn, he's talking about the First Amendment. That's great -- we need to talk about First Amendment. But he's spouting off about rights -- what about responsibilities that accompany those rights? And what about my Fourteenth Amendment rights?? Where are those when he's talking about constitutional protections?

I don't have his latest missive to the entire CCSU community but when I do, I'll post it -- in it, he asks us to look to the positives, everything CCSU has done right. Is he trying to convince us that the constant hostile workplace climate at Central is old news like Rowan & co.? Methinks he's not paying attention for a reason. Like naming names, this "focus on the positive, ignore the negative" is a diversionary tactic. Keep the pressure on! This is OUR campus -- WE have rights, too!!

Why is it that everyone assumes Miller is protecting just Rowan's rights? First ammendment rights are everyones rights!

Not quite, richie. As these events reveal, only some people have the right to unemcumbered free speech. Rowan has every protection afforded to him -- students like me cannot publish in the paper because he doesn't like what we say about him. But he can insult entire groups of people? That's his power...and everyone's interested in protecting it. what about my rights? No one is protecting those.

Then you can start your own newspaper. I agree the Recorder is biased, immature, and degrading, but none of that is President Miller's fault. They no longer recieve funding, and if Miller were to impede on the students 1st amendment rights, the PSA would be the first ones to cry about it.

Again, i'm not defending the Recorder in any way, shape, or form. Everybody is looking to place blame for these degenerates on a higher power, and Miller has become the patsy. If it's anybody's fault it's the admissions office for letting them in.(sarcasm implied)
